Statement from Marshall “Eddie” Conway

Greetings comrades and supporters,

Several years ago a small group of supporters helped me organize the Partnership for Social Justice (PSJ) to better coordinate the effort to gain my freedom. Since that time, we have organized teach-ins to educate Baltimore youth about the Black Panther Party; mobilized community support for my case and sponsored campaigns to address other issues such as COINTELPRO and the prison industrial complex. Our activities have included petition drives, rallies, speaking engagements, fundraisers, government resolutions, and theater and arts projects. Building the campaign to correct the injustice of 39 years of illegal imprisonment has been an ongoing process and during that time it has involved many people, some of who have moved on in their lives and work.

While I wholeheartedly encourage everyone to assist our efforts by using some of the same methods that PSJ has as well as any others that will have a positive impact, I would like to be informed of any activities or events that are being planned on my behalf. My intention is to keep up with the scope of the campaign for my freedom and encourage support for all ongoing efforts. Thus, I organized PSJ as a mechanism to guide and direct the campaign and those supporters who are working for my freedom. The need to intensify the effort for my freedom and the freedom of all political prisoners has never been more critical. So, if you are interested in organizing on my behalf please contact the Partnership for Social Justice (my support committee) to reach me or a member who can contact me. You will find the contact information below.
